AC-8265 Bluetooth

I recently upgraded my network card to the AC-8265 on my desktop. Everything works fine except the Bluetooth. It no longer responds to any media controls. For example, on my Bluetooth headphones, there are play, next, previous and volume controls and it does not respond to any of them. It used to respond with my older adapter. I know the controls on the headphones work because they do on my other devices. My operating system is Windows 7-64 bit. I cannot find any information about this anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help. -Dave B

Hello dabbound,

Thank you for your response.

In this case, please perform a clean install of the latest drivers (even if you already have them) using the following guide:

I have many different brands of headphone none of them work and all previously did. I tried clean install following the guide and no luck. One brand is Crown Model E7 another is Phaiser, and another is Proxelle Model Serenity and the list goes on. And don't forget I am having no problems at all with the wireless just the Bluetooth the link you provided is just for the wireless not Bluetooth.

Hello dabbound

Thank you for your response.

In this case, the recommended Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows® 7 is a bundle that includes the basic drivers for your Bluetooth as well.

However, please go ahead and uninstall all your current wireless drivers with the steps previously shared, after that please go ahead and install the latest https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27864/Wireless-Intel-Wireless-Bluetooth-for-Windows-7-?product=94150 Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® for Windows 7*, so we can check if the individual drivers make a difference. If the issue persists, please install again our Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows® 7 on top of them and then let us know the results.

I really hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,

Diego S.

Two antennas are used by the AC 8265 adapter. Both antennas are serving WiFi, however the one labeled AUX 1 is for Bluetooth connection also. Please check if the antenna connector (usually white coaxial cable) is connected correctly to the AUX 1 connector.

The Ac-8265 is part of a PCI adapter which came with two antennas directly attached to the card and they are attached.

Hello dabbound,

Thank you for your response.

Based on the description of your issue, the fact that the Bluetooth* used to work with the old adapter, and that the new one does not, leads us to think that the Bluetooth* portion of your card might be defective/damaged, especially because we already covered all the possible troubleshooting steps (driver-wise).

Another possibility is that the devices that you own (headphones) might be facing firmware issues with the Bluetooth* profile handled by Windows* 7, have you experienced the same issue into a different OS?

I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,

Diego S.

The other devices work fine with my other computer which is running the same OS. The problem is not the devices. Do the Bluetooth drivers automatically include the part that the devices use to control the media, like volume and next track, etc. or is that separate. That is the only part that doesn't work the rest does but it is a pain if not next to the device to have to go back to go to next track and such.

Hello dabbound,

Thank you for your response.

In this case, the driver package includes the entire media controllers necessary for functions such as volume, pause and play.

Based on the troubleshooting done, we suspect that there might be a compatibility issue between the Bluetooth* version of your devices and the one from your Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 (Bluetooth Version 4.2)

Hello dabbound,

Thank you for your response.

In this case, we refer to a compatibility issue between your devices Bluetooth's version, and the Bluetooth version supported on your card, which is 4.2

I hope this helps.

As I stated more than once it is not a compatibility issue because the old adapter was the same version of Bluetooth 4.2. So that could not be the problem.
