is there any other indentification label pasted on your mainboard??
i am sure the is a 1 more set of serial number location next to your AA number..
it is better that you take a picture and post it here...
I agree, it is best to post a screenshot of the board.
One more thing, there is a heatsink for the ICH chipset, if you can get the readings from the chipset, it would be good.
To me, this does not seem to be a boxed intel board, it can be either OEM product or an engineering sample board.
Anyway, let's wait and see.
However if the board is booting, you can try the Board ID utility.
If you can still go into the bios, what is the bios version, full string would be better to have.
Then go to Additional System Information >> Desktop Board Information
Try this software:
And post some screenshots.
If you can go into bios you can find the information about the board by selecting "System Identification Information" in the main menu.
The Serial numbers on the barcode are INNG24400017 AA A62469-403
The number on the chip is RGE7205MC, I haven't installed the board into anything yet so I cant get into the Bios, I think you are correct that it is not a boxed board, Probly a from a factory PC, here is a pic of the board, Thanks for your help. James
The bottom left chip Says
The upper right chip says RGE7205MC and I cant read the smaller writing, sorry
The bottom left chip Says
Is there any other markings below? like slxxx or qxxx
Yes there is
Are all the Factory boards this hard to Identify?
I booted up the board this morning, It has a bois version V V N G B I 4 4 A . 8 6 A . 0 0 2 6 . D
iI put spaces inbetween the letters to make it easyer to read the letters, there is no advanced optins or anything saying as to a model number, the boot screen is unlike anything I have seen, it has Intel Developers Services Early Access Program.
I have it up and running but just need a few drivers for the sound and ethernet and such
Let's summarise from the data that you have provided so far:
The board has got:
MCH = Intel (R) 7205
ICH = Intel (R) 82801DB
From the Q-Spec, you can see that there is the notation ES which means that you have got a board which comes with an engineering sample chipset.
Now, you have added that it mentions something about Early Access Program, the EAP is meant for customer who gets the board before it was supposed to be launched. They used it for testing purposes etc.
Regarding the drivers, you can use intel driver update utility to find it automatically:
Otherwise, another way of looking which is a bit tedious; try to see if there is any similar board that has the above MCH and ICH.
If you let me know the device id for the unknown devices, i can see if i know anything.
All the best,
Thank you, I will try to get the drivers installed in the morning, and let you know what works and what doesn't, I noticed that there are some number displays and a set of Diag lights next to the usb ports, so far none of the pins are marked very well either, so It will be trial and error, plus I guessed at the memory as well.
I got the board up and running, no problems at all, no hicups, everything works perfect. I appreciate all the help,
