Just bought an Intel PRO/1000. Problem installing drivers.

The 4 ports show up in Device Manager, but when I go to install the latest drivers (PROWinx64 it says "Cannot install drivers. No Intel(R) Adapters are present in this computer." How can I install the latest drivers? The current drivers are from Microsoft from 4/5/2016 ver 12.15.22.6.

Thanks for any help.

Hi emergent,

Thank you for posting in Wired Ethernet Community.

Please share the Intel(R) Network Adapter model and Operating system. The possible reason for not able to install the latest driver is your Intel(R) Adapter doesn't have "Full Support" for the operating system.

In case you're using Windows® 10 , kindly visit this https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000020905/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products.html link for list of Intel(R) Adapter that has "Full Support".

Hope this helps.

It is a Intel PRO/1000 VT Quad Port Server Adapter LP PCI-E EXPI9404VT

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002JLKNIW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002JLKNIW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm trying to get it working on a fully updated version of Windows 10.

I don't see this particular model on the list at the link you sent.

Can you provide a recommendation for something that will work how I want it to?

Hi emergent,

The adapter should still function with the Microsoft driver. Any error message encountered that triggers you to update to the latest Intel driver?

This adapter is also classified as "Discontinued". Please refer to this https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000022055/network-and-i-o.html link for details.

We would suggest to get in touch with the OEM for further assistance.

You are correct. It does work. But I bought it to be able to do NIC teaming. Can you recommend a four port Intel adapter that can do this under Windows 10?

Hi emergent,

You can consider "Intel® Ethernet Server Adapter I350-T4". This adapter has full driver support in Windows 10 that can do NIC Teaming.

In your search for this adapter, you might come across 2 versions - I350-T4 and I350-T4V2.

I350-T4 is already discontinued and being replaced by I350-T4V2. The V2 has the AUX power component changes that will result in a decrease of in-rush current during power supply start-up. Product functionality does not change.
