D435 advanced controls documentation

I am developing an applicaton with the D435 camera, and I keep getting a very noisy depth data,

I tried using the post processing block to reduce the noise but with little result: below you can see two image, the first one doesn't have a temporal filter, the second one has a temporal filter. As you can see, there is little difference between the two:

I would like to costumize the presets to get a better image. From my understanding I should modify the data in the "Advanced Controls" panel, but I cannot find any good documentation.

I do not know of any documentation for these functions. A camera tuning guide published by Intel provides the following notice in the section that covers presets:

I would recommend experimenting with each function to see how it affects your image. Also, the guide that the above notice came from may be able to provide you with useful advice about adjusting your image for noise reduction in other ways.
