Can you 'ping' and 'nslookup' the SS4200?
Both machines are on the same subnet and ping and nslookup both work.
No problems in communication unless its the other way around.
I enabled ssh access to the SS4200 (from https://my-machine/support.html) and tried pinging the server machine and it replied normally. nslookup also works correctly
I found the cause of the problem after all. The firewall on the Windows Server machine was blocking me, so I added an exception for lsass.exe and joined the active directory.
However I now seem to be having the problem described here in the forums of the domain administrator user not having admin access on the storage machine, even though I am running Win server 2003 eng and not one of the foreign language versions.
Also although I can log in to the storage machine with the domain adminstrator user none of the other active directory accounts can login.
I even tried copying the administrator account to a new one to ensure that all domain groups were the same and edited the password to exclude any special characters as the workaround suggests but to no avail
