My 8700k exceeds TDP when rendering

Hello,

I have a question. Recently i got my 8700k, but the problem is power draw when rendering which exceeds TDP, even thought that i cannot completly compare those two values, but i certainly can see that weird value.

All settings stock, motherboard BIOS is the lastest.

VID is extremly high 1.44V when INTEL says max safe voltage is 1.4V, but look at power draw of 140Watts. It's not even close to stated heat emmission (TDP) of 95 Watts.

Is there something wrong with my CPU?

I understand that you are currently finding that the TDP is not at the right levels.

 

 

Regarding this, I would like to request an Intel ® System Support Utility report. You can download the tool from the following link:

Also, I would like you to check the TDP and voltages using Intel ® software and not third-party applications. You can try using the Intel ® Extreme Tuning Utility which you can also download from the link below:

Thank you for your response.

 

 

Could you please run a stress test with the Intel ® Extreme Tuning Utility and see if the option "Throttling" turns to yes?

 

 

This is to check for any problems with thermals. Is the system working fine or is there any issue present when you normally use the computer?
