Hi there,

I'm running an HP Probook 430 G3 (Intel HD 520 graphics) with Windows 10 and all the latest updates. I have tried multiple graphics drivers, including the new 24.20.100.6025 drivers but every time to try launch an application that uses Direct3D I get the below error:

Failed to initialize player

Details:

Failed to initialize Direct3D.

Make sure you have at least DirectX 9.0c installed, have drivers for your

graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration

in display settings.

InitializeEngineGraphics failed

I've tried uninstalling the device from Device Manager as well as using the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) application to remove previous versions of drivers.

Please can someone assist in terms of how I resolve this error.

When you say "an application" do you mean any application or a particular one?

In latter case name the application, otherwise https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 Download DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer from Official Microsoft Download Center

Stefan3D - I mean any application that requires Direct3D. Also already tried the DirectX Web Installer, which tells me "DirectX setup has determined that a newer or equivalent version of DirectX has been installed already. No installation is necessary".

Any other ideas?
