The Intel® Wireless-N 7265 is a single band adapter, meaning it works with 2.4 GHz only. This is part of the hardware design and not a feature defined by drivers alone.
Regarding the number of antennas, this adapter model has a 2x2 antenna configuration. This means it uses two antennas for Transfer and Receive data streams, regardless of what bands are supported.
When thinking about replacing the wireless adapter on your system, it is always important to work with the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). Just like any other device, not all wireless adapters are physically and electrically compatible with all systems. Therefore the integration must be validated by the OEM.
