I350-T2 + I219V teaming in Win 10 build 14393.2214

I also have teaming problem with I350-T2 + I219V

I use win10 64-bit with build 14393.2214 (released at 17th, April) and the latest driver (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25016/Intel-Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=36773 Download Intel® Network Adapter Driver for Windows® 10 )

I can successfully teaming these two adapters(using intel ANS adaptive load balancing), and it works fine in normal situation.

BUT, its fail-over function doesn't work at all.

Here is how I test fail-over function:

I connect with 3 client pc and use Iperf2.0.10 to test the connection speed.

Then, I intentionally disable one adapter, theoretically, it will continue connecting with all 3 pc with a lower speed(which I saw under win8), but the result I see is connection abort (sometimes one or two of them, sometimes all) with two kinds of error message : "write failed, connection reset by peer" or "software cause connection abort".

This problem didn't happen under win8 I test couple weeks ago.

Does anyone have any idea?

Hi Lala_lancelot,

Thank you for posting in Wired Communities. I branch out your post here as you have a different issue. Can you share more information for us to better check:

1) What is the brand and model of the system where is the I219-V is installed?

2) Is the I350-T2 an external network adapter or an onboard NIC as well?

3) Can you clarify about the 3 client PC? Are you connecting these 3 client PCs on the same switch in order to access the Windows 10 PC (with teaming configured) on the same switch?

4) Are both Windows 8 and Windows 10 you tested have the same setup?

5) Please refer to the failover information at https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000007536/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products.html Intel® Advanced Network Services (Intel® ANS) Advanced Settings for... , can you check if probe is enabled?

Please feel free to update me.

Thanks,

Hi Sharon,

Thanks for your support and kindly find my answer below:

1) What is the brand and model of the system where is the I219-V is installed?

=> I'm not so sure if this is the information you want: I'm using GIGABYTE GA-B150M-D3H which has an onboard NIC I219-V.

2) Is the I350-T2 an external network adapter or an onboard NIC as well?

=> I350-T2 is an external dual port network adapter.

3) Can you clarify about the 3 client PC?

=> All of them are H81m-itx (https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/H81M-ITX/index.us.asp ASRock > H81M-ITX )

Are you connecting these 3 client PCs on the same switch in order to access the Windows 10 PC (with teaming configured) on the same switch?

=> Yes

4) Are both Windows 8 and Windows 10 you tested have the same setup?

=> When I tested on Windows 8, i used the latest driver for Windows 8 (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/21642/Intel-Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-8-?product=36773 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/21642/Intel-Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-8-?product=36773 )

As for Windows 10, I also use the latest version(23.1) for Windows 10, both of the drivers are valid for I219-V and I350-T2.

Beside OS system and driver, I think other setup (including client PC) are identical.

5) Please refer to the failover information at https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000007536/network-and-i-o/ethernet-products.html Intel® Advanced Network Services (Intel® ANS) Advanced Settings for... , can you check if probe is enabled?

=> Yes, probe function is enabled. The packet type is broadcast and the max number of probe retries is 10.

Thanks for your support again!

Hi Lala_lancelot,

Recently we have a new driver version 23.2, you may try install the driver to see this will make any difference:

Please let me know also if your switch has the STP disabled. Looking forward to your reply, Thank you.
