The more complex answer is that, for older (or, in this case, ancient) boards and processors, support was removed from the Intel Chipset Software (a.k.a. INF Update) package starting with the 10.0.0.0 release. You need to use 9.x versions of this package to handle your platform. Here is a link to download such a package for Windows 7: Download Intel® Chipset Device Software for 5 Series Chipset-Based Desktop Boards. There is no similar package for Windows 8, 8.1 or 10, however; these O/Ss are NOT supported on this platform. While they will install and run, they will do so using Microsoft's compatibility driver package. If any issues are uncovered, neither Intel or Microsoft will provide any support.
