              Hi Chris,

              Thanks for your reply.

Here are the information as request,

Motherboard Model and manufacturer: Dell Server R730 main board, with Intel c610 series chipset.

              Processor Model: Intel Xeon E5-2698 v3 @ 2.3Ghz 16C/32T

              Operating System: Windows server 2008 R2 x64

Also we got two Intel P3700 400GB PCIE SSD for our server and we use windows managed software raid 1 for redundancy purpose.

              Details as below:

But currently the disk speed is not at the promising level, see a simple copy and paste looks like:

But if we do the disk speed test we can see:

G:\ is the PCIE SSD partition, from the disk speed test, the Read and Write speed is on the normal level.

That's why i would like to try intel RTSe to raid those two PCIE SSD, i would like to see if there is any improvement for our case.

Hopefully the above information will help.

              Regards,

              Jackie

                Hello JackieKey,

Thanks for your reply and all the information you've provided us; in regards to your situation you can find the general iRSTe NVMe Download for your Intel® Xeon® Processor E5 v3 with the Intel® C610 Series Chipset by visiting the following link:

                    Hello JackieKey,

Thanks for your reply and in regards to the download of Intel® Rapid Storage Technology enterprise (Intel® RSTe) actually you'll require to contact to your Motherboard Manufacturer (In this case Dell*) so they can provide you the latest supported version of the software according to your Operating System and specific Dell* Motherboard information. The key that you've got from our Registration Center will help you to register your copy of the software once you've downloaded and installed it.

In regards to the performance that you're reported, since you're not using an Intel® tool like Intel® RSTe we'll not be able to validate the results; for that reason we're unable to provide you recommendations in regards to this situation. We strongly recommend you to run the tests once you've downloaded the latest supported version of RSTe from the Motherboard Manufacturer; so we can determine an expected scenario and performance results and help you reach the best results.

Additionally, please remember that if you require more assistance or want to add additional details, we'll be glad to assist you

                    Best regards,

                    Chris

                      Hi Chris,

We got answer from Dell as following:

So, is there a general version for Intel RSTe NVMe ?

Our server is Dell Poweredge R730

Thanks for your reply and in regards to your situation we apologize but we actually don't provide General downloads for RSTe NVMe; the OEM/Manufacturer must support it to ensure compatibility and stability and also we'll be unable to ensure full performance and functions in those unsupported systems.

Additionally, please remember that if you require more assistance or want to add additional details, we'll be glad to assist you

                          Hi Chris,

                          Thanks for your update.

We are trying different configuration to test how the performance looks like.

We've removed the mirror and just use one drive stand alone to test the speed.

again the speed test from crystal disk shows the correct speed, but when we do a copy and paste from the drive, the speed shows like 155MB/second which is unbelievable.

Our server has windows 2008 R2, it's a physical server to run database on it, there is no VM configuration.

All the driver and firmware is up-to-date.

We are wondering if Intel has some tool to help us diagnostic what's the issue for such slowness for our P3700 PCIE SSD ?

                          OR

even better can some techinician gives us a ring ?

Based on the information provided. It seems that the Intel® SSD DC P3700 Series has the proper performance since CrystalDiskInfo* shows accurate information. We recommend you to check the following article in order to check when using file copy to measure storage performance – Why it’s not a good idea and what you should do instead.

Thanks for your reply, we mainly use the P3700 PCIE SSD for our database, is there a tool that intel can help us to test the performance for the drives ?

Also is there some configuration can be done for the drive to optimize for database purpose ?

Our database is SQL like database but not SQL, it's called Firebird.
