Hallo,
which SSD is recommended for SSD caching with read/write caching in LSI RAID Controller 9271-8i in RAID 5 level.
Do you have any suggestions?

Hello Dirk,
Thanks for posting in our community. We understand that you're looking for SSD recommendations for a RAID configuration.
What drive is right for you would depend on your needs. We offer different SSD families based on that: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/memory-storage/solid-state-drives/consumer-ssds.html Consumer, https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/memory-storage/solid-state-drives/professional-ssds.html Professional and https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/memory-storage/solid-state-drives/data-center-ssds.html Data Center. We can't recommend you a specific model, but you can start there.
You also have to consider what kind of interfaces are supported by the RAID controller (SATA, NVMe, SAS,etc.). You can find more information on each Intel® SSD model at our product specification site under Memory and Storage:
- https://ark.intel.com/ Intel ® SSD Product Specification
Please let us know if there's anything else we can do for you.
Best regards,
Eugenio F.

Hi Dirk.
Any enterprise SATA SSD will do I would use mirror on LSI RAID Controller 9271-8i, I think the maximum cache is 512gb.
we are taking about Cachecade?
https://www.broadcom.com/products/storage/raid-controllers/megaraid-cachecade-pro-software# documentation MegaRAID CacheCade Pro 2.0 Software
So I would get two 512gb SATA SSDs and use them in mirror mode.
I have use one Hitachi SAS SSD for this as well that work quite well but expensive.
I would not get consumer SSD drives.
Regards,
Shawn.
