According to this guide (https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/boardsandkits/aero/intel-aero-compute-board-guide.pdf), on accessories connector, the voltage between pins 1 & 6 on J3 (GPS) and pins 1 & 4 on J4 (Compass) should be equal to VBAT. My drone is hooked up to a fully charged 14.8V LiPo battery, but these voltages are only reading ~5V. Is this just an error in the documentation? If so, is there another location that I can access VBAT from the accessories connector?
I referenced this past issue:VBAT on 80-pin accessories connector on Intel Aero Compute Board, but mine is different because I AM reading a non-zero voltage between the relevant pins. However, it's just not equal to VBAT.
Thank you for contacting Intel Customer Support.
On the Aero RTF Drone, the +VBAT pin is actually the correct pin. The battery is connected to the drone’s power distribution board. The power distribution board is providing 5V to the Aero compute board inside, therefore +VBAT is ~5V. The battery voltage level is being sent to the flight controller and can be accessed that way.
