Good afternoon!

I have such a question - the network has more and more content in the HEVC 4K 10bit HDR, when I try to play it in standard players such as VLC and so on, although CyberLink PowerDVD generally copes well with such content, during playback, wild brakes and image spills occur , so that's the question, what is more important for the reproduction of such content on a PC - a new generation of processors or video cards or both? The CPU load does not exceed 30-60%, maybe he just does not understand what he is fed? Who has any assumptions or answers. I'm waiting for user opinions with old systems and new ones, as well as reviews of local experts...

Hello XORROR

Thank you for joining the community.

Let me share with you that the video decoding on your scenario is handled by the PCI express video card that is the reason why you are getting low CPU usage. In addition, the CPU i7 3930K does not have any graphics controller, all the video related actions are done by the GPU

Hello, Leonardo C.

Thanks for the answer, I'll ask a few more questions.

Let me clarify, if I change the old budget video card to a more powerful and modern one with the support of modern standards, everything will be played smoothly enough? I correctly understood in my system the video card is the weakest link, the so-called bottleneck?

Did you try to watch the sample and how did you reproduce it if you tried it?

What is your bunch of CPU + GPU if it's not a secret?

Hello XORROR

Thank you for your response, I was able to reproduce the video and it reproduce smoothly on an Intel® NUC Kit NUC6i7KYK, I don't have the information about what video card that you have, but as is said before the video decoding on your system is done with your video card,

For the CPU + GPU, this link could help you

You would have to take into consideration the comparability of your motherboard with the processors, for that please refer to the manufacturer
