Intel My WiFi Technology: Adapter Not Found

Hi everyone,

I have been browsing all over the place and have seen many people facing the same problem. None of the suggestions worked so far including rebooting the system, adding Intel Driver & Support Assistant, checking for new drivers in Device Manager.

I have a Microsoft Windows 7. For more details see below:

My internet connection is fluctuating extremely in different times of the day and sometimes not even being able to load a single page. In Device Manager I'm not able to find or see any Intel adapter under Networking (see below):

If I navigate to Intel My WiFi Technology all I can do is open the Intel WiFi Utility, once I click on it that's the result I get:

Any suggestions are highly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello IvaL,

Thanks for posting.

From the Device Manager screenshot you shared, we can see your wireless adapter is a Dell 1501 Wireless-N*. This is why you're not able to find any Intel adapters.

We recommend http://www.dell.com/support/contents/us/en/19/category/contact-information?c=us&l=en&~ck=mn to contact Dell* for further assistance.

Thanks for your reply, Eugenio! Would you recommend an Intel adapter that I can install in order to be located by the Intel My WiFi Technology and which is suitable for the type of system I have?

Best,

Iva

IvaL,

In order to learn what Intel wireless cards can replace your current adapter, we recommend contacting the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) to find out what products are compatible with your laptop.

Just like any other device, not all wireless adapters are physically and electrically compatible with all systems. Therefore the integration must be validated by the OEM to avoid compatibility issues:
