    S2600CP and RAM

    th3godf4th3r

Just wondering if i am missing something.

I purchased a ACT16GHR72U4J1600S which is stated as being compatible here: CMTL > Search > Tested Motherboard > Results

However, when i insert the ram and boot the computer, i get the fatal 3 beeps.

I know there is a chance it could be bad but i do not believe it and unfortunately do not have another computer to check it with.

Is there anything i needed to do in BIOS to support it?

      Current config:

      (2) E5-2680v2

      (2) Kingston KVR13E9/4I 4GB

          Hello Taylor,

The 3 long beep indicates that you are having a memory error.

As first troubleshooting step test one memory module at the time and check if you still get the 3 long beeps. Also test each memory slot individually.

If the problem continues, please test different memory on your system, click here for the list of compatible memory.

You can also test your old memory module and check if the problem continues.

          Best regards,
          Sergio S.
