    JC_38

      Hi,

I think I am not alone but for now, i haven't read any solution about this problem.

When trying to upgrade or to remove the DSA, there is an error about a missing msi file into a folder cache that doesn't exist: C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\{2394186A-5445-4293-B739-352009350342}v3.0.0.9\

Here is a log for an uninstall try

      Thank you for your help

            I'm using an Intel NUC5i7RYH

            Version du BIOS/Date Intel Corporation RYBDWi35.86A.0367.2017.0929.1059, 29/09/2017

First, I have tried to update it --> failure.

So, after, I've tried to remove it --> failure

And finally, I've tried to install it again (with the setup.exe for the 3.0.0.9) --> failure

                  Hi David,

Thank you for the file. But it's exactly the same as the one I got (this is your official 3.0.0.9 previous version). So same file gives same result.

                  Too bad :-(

                  Best regards.

                    JC_38

Finally, i've got the solution about the uninstall, repair or upgrade program.

The problem comes from a missing folder into C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Package Cache (personal) , this is an error coming from the first installation package, it should have been the C:\ProgramData\Package Cache (common for all users). If this personal folder have been deleted, the setup is not able to find the msi used for the first installation and don't stop claiming for them.

So the workaround is first to download the latest Wix installer from Downloads  , Wix is the tool used to create the setup package.

Then add the wix binary folder to your own environment path. From a command prompt, execute dark -x C:\theoutputfolderyouwant "Intel Driver and Support Assistant Installer.exe"

You get some msi files in your C:\theoutputfolderyouwant subfolders, these are the ones the setup ask when you are trying to remove the product. Just browse to this folder and you will be able to make a clean uninstall.

PS : the latest DSA use the good Package Cache folder
