reset your bios and change your fan
What is the safest way to reset the bios? just pop the battery out?
with the stock fan in cpu at 80ish% im up to 85c and going up at about 1c every 3-4 minutes. I'm also reading that the TJ max for th q6600 is 71c. I'm above that just writing this and running nothing else. proc at about 5-10% load.
I've changed, and reconnected the heat sink, and plugged the fan into the two places on the board with 4 pin connections.
Intel boards suck. This wont be running "rock solid" or even stable. I should have gone with asus....
either you can reset hte bios by shifting the jumper to pin 2 to pin 3..
well, if you have the mainboard manual.. pls refer it on how to reset the bios.
if not... pop ou the CMOS battery and wait for 15 to 30 min.. then pop in back..
sad to say. even if i were you in this condition, i will straige away call intel customer support for help on the issue.
they are more expierence on the product based...
pls dun hate intel board.. it is rock solid..
just pick up your phone and call the local intel cutomer support for help.
Make sure to check if these bios settings have been configured.
From the supported cpus list, only Q6600 SLACR has been validated on this board.
Which sl number is your CPU?
All the best,
Under boot config there is no system fan control. The ONLY thing in the bios (0099 or 0104) that has anything to do with fan control according to the online manual is "Processor Zone Response >Aggressive, normal, slow< Or "Processor Zone Damping >High, Normal<
Neither of which do anything to speed up or slow down the fans.
Not sure what you mean by SL number. This is the Q6600 Kentsfield. G0 revision.
