In regard to your question, is it difficult to explain why the brightness feature is not working properly after updating the graphics controller, it could be due to a compatibility problem with the driver installed. Just to let you know, the Intel graphics drivers are generic, meaning they might or might not work with your system, that is why we recommend to install the drivers provided by the manufacturer of the computer.
Since processor works with Intel® HD graphics 4000, we can try to install the latest version of the graphics driver for that controller which is 4653:
If the problem persists after that, to re-install the drivers or a BIOS update might be needed. In that case the best thing to do will be to get in contact with the manufacturer of the device directly.
