Difference between Retail and Brown boxes?

    himo

I just ordered an Intel SSD SSDPE21D280GASM 900P 280GB 2.5 W U.2-M.2 Connector but the vendor is unable to state if the 'Brown' box includes the U.2-M.2 cable. I'm trying to avoid a letdown when the SSD arrives next week.

          Hi himo

We understand your concern regarding which cable includes the Intel® Optane™ SSD 900P Series in the box.

Based on the part number SSDPE21D280GASM, we identify that it includes is the U.2-M.2 connector.  The ordering code may vary depending on what is included in the box.

Also, you can verify that here, under the "specifications" tab you will see that ordering code is the same.

A follow up: The 900p M.2-U.2 brown box arrived and contained the actual retail box and included the McGiver-like connecting cable and Star Citizen video game promotion.
