Take a look at these instructions to install the Edison’s Drivers: Installing Drivers for your Board and in order to flash the Edison manually, you can look at these instructions: Flashing the OS Image on your Board with Windows*. If you have any issue during the process, don’t hesitate to ask for assistance.

MechSpartan Oct 27, 2017 8:04 AM (in response to Intel Corporation)I have downloaded and installed the drivers on my computer and flashed the board through the command prompt using the flashall.bat command. When I open Putty and try to establish a serial connection it won't work. I click open and my computer dings and nothing happens. I have the right COM port and the baud rate is set to 115200. Any help from here would be appreciated.

Oct 27, 2017 11:13 AM (in response to MechSpartan)This message was posted on behalf of Intel CorporationHello MechSpartan,
I understand you are experiencing issues establishing a serial communication.
There are some things that we can try to see if we can establish the corresponding communication:- Try using a wall adapter power supply, sometimes the board doesn’t receive the adequate amount of power from the USB ports (in case you are using the Arduino Expansion Board).
- Try several USB ports, PCs and laptops tend to have different types of USB ports, and some are more suitable than others when connecting the board.
- Try connecting to another PC or laptop, this may help us discard the possibility of a defective unit.
- Make sure that the SW1 switch is toward the micro USB port and not the USB port (in case you are using the Arduino Expansion Board).
- Keep in mind that the putty.exe file must be ran as administrator.
Could you provide a picture of your setup? Also a couple of screenshots, one of the Device Manager displaying Ports (COM & LPT), and another one of the PuTTY Configuration window with the corresponding information.
I’ll be waiting for your response.
Have a nice day.
Regards,

Looking at the screenshots you provided, I cannot see any issues with your setup. What I can suggest is to re-flash the board with the latest image once again, as an error could have occurred during the flashing process. The latest image can be found here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27074/Intel-Edison-Yocto-Poky-image
Also, are you using the Mini-Breakout Board or the Arduino Expansion Board?

After going through the troubleshooting steps, the next option is to submit a ticket for replacement of the board. To start a RMA for your board, follow the instructions and fill out all
