Trying to resurrect an old Gateway GT5464 computer and after I got it running, I find it is looking for the Intel 82945G express chip set driver. Have looked around for several hours and so far haven't found anything that looks close to the driver I need. Started with Gateway's site to end up with nothing that worked.
I tried to install and run the Intel Drivers & Support Assistant. It failed.
I am running Windows XP with SP3. Please don't tell me to upgrade my operating system. XP runs just fine on all my other computers and programs I use all the time.
Anyone have any ideas?
Well, everything is not working fine, else you would not have a problem with this old, unsupported chipset.
And, I will not tell you to upgrade your OS because there is no point in doing so.
Now, all that said, you might want to try this:
There is no guarantee that it will work.
You may want to ask gateway where the chipset inf is (for their board). But, do not be surprised with their answer.
