Can't enable HDD drive optimization using SSD: unknown error (0xA001004B)

I have 2 drives: a 1TB HDD and a 58GB SSD (OCZ-Agility3). I used to optimize the HDD using the SSD and everything was working fine. Yesterday I disabled the optimization for a moment and I cannot re-enable it, because I get unknown error 0xA001004B. When I googled it, I found a reference to Optane manual, indicating that I should have at least 5MB at the end of the drive unallocated. I don't have an Optane SSD, but I freed 5GB (just in case) at the end of the drive, but this didn't help. Any ideas? HDD without SSD support sucks.
