Intel realsense r200 non funziona

Buongiorno a tutti,

Translation from Italian: "Good morning everyone, A friend of mine has a problem with his Notebook Acer Aspire Switch 12S. The Notebook has Windows 10 and comes with a Main Webcam (Intel Realsense r200) and another front webcam".

"I tried to test them both with the Windows Camera app and online. That front fits perfectly, but when I use the main webcam, I see a white and blue screen. I tried to reinstall all the drivers, but the problem persists".

"I also noticed that when I start the Intel Realsense application for calibration, I always get this error: DS_Invalid_Arg. Could you kindly tell me how to solve this problem? I thank you in advance for the time you invest in answering me".

Marty's answer: there have been two past cases of the DS_Invalid_Arg error, In both cases, it happened when trying to open the RealSense Camera Calibrator application on a Wacom MobileStudio Pro tablet. I see that your friend has an Acer Aspire Switch 12S though. It is regarded as being similar to Wacom products, so there may be something similar in the two products that causes this issue with the calibrator.

In those previous cases, a way to run the RealSense Camera Calibrator program on the Wacom was not found, sadly, so there is not a known solution for the _Arg error for the Acer Switch either, unfortunately.

There is a way to reset the Acer Switch 12s to its original factory condition. Make sure any important personal data is saved somewhere outside of the Switch and then follow this procedure:

1. Go to the Main Menu find and select Settings

2. Open the Backup and Reset folder and select Factory Data Reset.

3. Tap Reset Phone and read the warning when it pops up. and select erase everything.

I hope this helps!

Translation to Italian.

Translation from Italian: Good morning, Thank you for the speed with which you responded. I reset my notebook to factory conditions, but I did not get any good results. In fact, every time I tried to start R200 camera with the Windows 10 Camera app, it always showed a white and blue image, as if the room was not recognized.

So I decided to uninstall the "Intel RealSense Depth Camera Manager" app, uninstalled all the drivers and restarted the system. The drivers installed automatically after the computer restarted, and I noticed that by launching the Camera app, the Intel Room was recognized and worked fine. I tried to figure out what the cause was.

By the time I reinstalled the Intel RealSense Depth Camera Manager app, I noticed that the room did not work anymore. So I just uninstalled the app and now it works perfectly. Probably a compatibility issue, but I'm not sure. I hope you could give me some clarifications on this. Thank you again for the support you gave me, and I wish you a good day.

Marty's reply: I'm very glad that you managed to get your camera working on your Acer! It does sound as though your device has a compatibility problem with the Depth Camera Manager. When the camera is integrated into the device like yours is, there is always a risk that it may have a conflict with the drivers provided by Intel, which are usually used with the external USB version of the camera. This is why I recommend to people that they try the manufacturer's own camera drivers first before using Intel's if they have a problem with their integrated camera.

Have a great weekend, and please come back to the forum any time if you need further help.
