Thank you for your swift reply, but I do not see how DPDK support will help me, since I am not using their driver.

Thank you for the clarification. what is the exact X710 network adapter model you have? Are you saying when you run the test, the packet did not go into the specific queue as what flow director configured?
Thanks,

song-lee Aug 2, 2017 3:18 AM (in response to Intel Corporation)Hi Sharon,
The exact mode is X710-DA2. The filter I want to apply should actually drop the traffic, but it does not. The queue redirection is working.
#ethtool -U i40e1 flow-type ip4 action -1 loc 1
Thank you!

song-lee Aug 7, 2017 5:34 AM (in response to Intel Corporation)Hello Sharon,
I would really like to make some progress on this issue.
We used this feature quite a bit previously on our ixgbe setup and were quite surprised,
that it's not working on i40e, as expected.
I think I have supplied all the information to track the problem - the kernel version, the driver version and
the firmware, along all the interface settings and the actual filter we are applying.
If I had missed something, I'll gladly supply this information also.
Thanks for your effort!
I appreciate it!
