UPS to shutdown Intel Modular Server

Hi,

How can the Intel Modular Server (incl. the CMM) be shutdown on power loss, using e.g. the APC Smart-UPS?

I need to completely shutdown the Intel Server, including the built in storage system.

It's possible to configure the system so that on detection of a power failure, a UPS can shutdown the server modules. But the CMM, SCM and ESM would still be on and eventually when the UPS runs out of power, these modules would power down. This is perfectly ok and as long as the servers are safely powered down, your data will be flushed to disk, and everything will be in tact. The SCM, CMM and ESM don't need to be safely shutdown.

Tripp Lite has a unit which could do this

SU5000RT4U-IMS

Thanks
