I am sorry to hear that you are having issues to install the Intel® Management Engine firmware.
If you have a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 14 with a 6th Gen Intel® Core™ Processor (Skylake family), please try installing the following:
Intel Management Engine 11.0 Firmware for Windows 10 (64-bit), 8.1 (64-bit), 7 (32bit and 64-bit) - ThinkPad T460, X260, Yoga 460, Yoga 14, P40 Yoga
If you have a different processor on your device, I would recommend contacting Lenovo for support.

Thank you Juan, I have a fifth generation processor and looked up my laptop on the site you referred to.
I downloaded Intel Management Engine 11.0 Firmware and installed it. Unfortunately, it produced the same error message as in the original post.
If you have any suggestions on what to do, please let me know.
Thanks Juan, I filed a support ticket with Lenovo but because the laptop recently went out of warranty they won't help (they are only offering to take in the laptop for repairs against a big fee). Great service from Lenovo hè ;-)

I regret to inform you that this type of issues are handled by the computer manufacturer since they are familiar with the total configuration of your computer model.
Intel does not have drivers for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) computers, you can find Intel® Management Engine drivers at https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ for Intel® NUC only.
My recommendation would be contacting your computer manufacturer directly.
