This remote is $45 !!!
This the only one that works ???
The one we can recommend are the ones Intel validated, you can check the Tested Peripherals for Intel® NUC Kits NUC6i[x]SY ,
There are more that I’m sure they work but Intel has not tested, in this case we can wait if another user who has tested different models they can post it here to help you.
Ok. So from the list we purchased an Xbox One remote.
We set the NUC to use the remote in the BIOS.
It does turn the unit on but not off.
The NUC is loaded with Windows 10 Anniverary Update.
Does this remote just turn it on and not off?
According with the remote specifications this remote control is suppose to control Blu-ray movies, streaming video, apps, TV power, and volume.
You should be able to turn it off, make sure you have the wake from S4 and S5 via CIR enabled in the bios and as well the wake from S3 via CIR.
The Enhance consumer IR needs to be enabled as well, this option is under devices in the bios, then on onboard devices you will see it to right, also you will see the option for CIR remote controller type, select the Xbox one remote option.
Is your BIOS up to date? If not, try also a BIOS update, you can download the latest version for this unit here:
BIOS Update [SYSKLi35.86A]
Please see F7 BIOS Update Instructions for Intel® NUC
I was testing the CIR on this unit today and I was able to turn it on and off but I don’t have this specific remote control model available, the one I used is the Microsoft Consumer Infrared usage models (RC-6).
I’m sorry I forgot to mention this specific model that it worked fine for me in our lab and also is cheaper.
Thanks for the help Ivan U.
What is the exact model of your remote?
The model is RC-6 or Microsoft Consumer Infrared RC-6.
You can find it here:
I tested it on Windows® 10 and it worked perfectly fine.
Please let me know how it goes.
Thank you. I will try to round one of these up to test.
I just don't understand why the Xbox One remote will only turn the unit on and not off.
You are more than welcome!
I’m sorry that the Xbox One remote did not work for you as you expected and please let me know how it goes with the RC-6 remote.
