That's not the only thing that's broken. Check the maximum clock and maximum turbo multipler -- they are wrong as well and they were messed up in 4598 too.
So, when you flash to a earlier rev motherboard bios, is it a good idea to do a CMOS clear as one of the steps?
And, what's the best way to do a CMOS clear on these DX58SO boards?
The only way I am aware of "clearing" CMOS is by loading setup (optimized) defaults.
During the flash process the text messages that show the progress of each stage of the update, a new item for the v 5020 bios is shown as prepared and flashed called " Intel Emerge Microcode". There's no mention of this new item in the release notes.
1. What is this code?
2. Does this new code get removed if I reflash to an previous version bios?
It says "Intel Emerge Microcode".
I have no clue.
