    iwlwifi-8265 linux firmware

    dupes

Ubuntu 16.04 shows the following firmware load errors in dmesg:

[2.032907] iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: Direct firmware load for iwlwifi-8265-24.ucode failed with error -2
[2.033107] iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: Direct firmware load for iwlwifi-8265-23.ucode failed with error -2

The firmware available from intel (Linux* Support for Intel® Wireless Adapters ) does not include the -23 and -24 firmware files.  The latest firmware for the Linux kernel does not have those two files either (https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/tree/?id=b689306274099710f9f85eaab584604ca11ee54a).  Files -21, -22, and -27.  Wifi is working, though every 10 seconds or so the UI freezes for 1 or so seconds.  My issue seems to match this: 16.04 - How do I fix UI lag on a Dell Precision 5520 when using a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse? - Ask Ubuntu .  Is iwlwifi 8265 officially supported in Linux?
