Dear support community,
I am trying to install the latest drivers for intel Iris 5100 graphics.
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_ldr.170427-1518)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4278U CPU @ 2.60GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.6GHz Memory: 8192MB RAMDirectX Version: DirectX 11The Intel update utility and the website have identified version 15.40 as the latest version containing Iris 5100 drivers, but the installer does not work (Error message: The computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software).
At first I thought I selected the wrong drivers, but neither the 32 or 64 bit versions worked.
Then I tried to manually install the drivers and I was surprised not to find Iris 5100 among the drivers identified by Windows in the install package. This is not the case with the older win64_153633.4578 driver, which includes the Iris 5100 graphics config.
Please fix the newer driver package so Windows can identify Iris 5100 as part of the package!

Indeed Haswell entries are only for Windows 10 in https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26682/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-40-?product=81494 driver build 4624
You would have to modify the INF and disable driver signatures.

Hi Stefan,
Could you please give me some details on what I have to edit in the INF file?
When I tried to manually select the drivers ("let me pick from a list.."), the list did not even show Iris 5100 in the newest versions, so I guess that INF edit is needed, but I do not know what to add or remove.
Thanks a lot for the fast response!

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/instantanswers/e6bbddb0-9db4-4d88-9063-42c52c79a96e/create-a-system-restore-point Create a system restore point first
STEP 1)
Don't edit igdlh64.inf with Notepad, it might save your result as igdlh64.inf.TXT or asks you to open WordPad.
Instead use a professional (yet free) solution like Notepad++ from https://notepad-plus-plus.org/ https://notepad-plus-plus.org/
Rename non-working igdlh64.inf to igdlh64.old
Copy working igdlh64.inf from old driver into new driver's folder
Update the line "DriverVer=..." with date and version from new driver
STEP 2a)
disable driver signature - secure boot off
bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit -set testsigning ON
reboot computer
STEP 2b)
disable driver signature - secure boot on
bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
enable testsigning via enhanced start options as described at:
http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/38289/%7E/windows-10%253A-disable-signed-driver-enforcement http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/38289/~/windows-10:-disable-signed-driver-enforcement
STEP 3)
Install the modified driver build via "have disk method" as described at:
http://www.windowscentral.com/how-install-intel-beta-graphics-drivers-surface http://www.windowscentral.com/how-install-intel-beta-graphics-drivers-surface
(ignore prolog about MS surface and skip steps 1 - 2 there)

Hi Stefan,
I followed the process,
Now I see Iris 5100 in the "have disk" list, but when I tell it to install I get the following error message: The system cannot find the file specified.
Any ideas?

I compared the directories of builds 4578 and 4624, there are too many different files.
New try:
rename igdlh64.inf to igdlh64.bad
rename igdlh64.old to igdlh64.inf
open igdlh64.inf and find
[IntelGfx.NTamd64.6.1]
add the line
%iHSWGT3UT28W% = iHSWM_w10, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0A2E
If that still fails you would have to copy all iHSWM_w10 sections, rename them to iHSWM_w7 and inject them at the right locations.
