Patience, Grasshopper. This is not interactive chat. You will have to wait your turn.

Also, you have to understand the difference between dedicated video memory (DVM) and system video memory (SVM). The link provided by Stefan3D explains that.

Also, only ASUS can help you with their BIOS on your laptop.

Hello 742617000027,

I understand you are trying to increase dedicated video memory in your Asus x301a laptop.

Let me apologize for any inconvenience this issue may be causing to you.

Our graphics controller supports up to 1.7GB of graphics memory. This link will give you more information graphics memory on our graphics controllers http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005472.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005472.html

Video memory is something that needs to be adjusted in the BIOS of the computer. Sometimes computer manufacturers set a specific amount of video memory the system will be able to use and then they lock the setting. You can try accessing the BIOS of your ASUS* laptop and look for graphics memory option. If you do not find any setting related to video memory then most likely it was locked.

You can also try contacting ASUS* in order to check with them what is the maximum amount of video memory they have configured in that specific laptop model. This link will give you their contact information https://www.asus.com/us/support/ https://www.asus.com/us/support/

Let me know if you have or not any other inquiry.

Regards,

Fred
