Do you have the latest BIOS version installed?
What are you trying to install via USB?
Did you try to run the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool as it shows here?

Thank you for the information, and I’m sorry for the issue you have with the IPDT. Please bear in mind that Intel hasn't validated these operating systems. We recommend you use the latest kernel. If you need assistance with Linux* on Intel NUC, check your distro's website and forums for peer assistance.
