Where To Buy Intel Core i7 6600U?

I have recently bought myself a new laptop, an HP 250 G5 i5 notebook laptop, I'm personally very pleased with it, however, for what I need it to do (3D modeling, 3D game dev, etc) it is a bit slow and my 3D modeling software freezes occasionally. I have been looking for better processors and stumbled upon the Intel i7 6600U, it has the right socket, and is quite fast, but I can't find where I can buy it.

Anybody know where I can buy it?

Hello Fred-Bore,

Thank you for contacting Intel Communities.

This kind of processors are sold to system manufacturers (such as HP) to build their systems, normally, they are not available to end customers, this is why they are hard to find.

In addition, if you plan to upgrade the processor of your laptop, I would recommend contacting the manufacturer to see if the processor you want is compatible with the computer, this because there are some other specifications (besides the socket) that you have to consider such as BIOS compatibility, electrical limitations, OEM restrictions, among others).

Nevertheless, I found a place where you can find this processor:

You can also check this http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/processors/000005682.html article for further information (it also applies to mobile processors)

I hope this information helps.

Best Regards,

JC
