    Network - Internet Access

    Soubhi

      Hi

      After upgrading OS to last version 1.3.1, I am not able to connect to network in client mode.

      After switching to client mode, I did the steps here : 08 Aero Network and System Administration · intel-aero/meta-intel-aero Wiki · GitHub

      No error message of fail is shown but the connection does not establish. I was able to connect before upgrading.

      Anyone has the same issue?

      Thank you,

      Soubhi.

          after I execute "set_net 1", I get the following :

          ----------------------------------

          wlan0: No enabled networks (2 disabled networks)

          wlan0: No enabled networks - do not scan.

          wlan0: state: INACTIVE -> INACTIVE

          OK

          --------------------------------------

          "enable_net 1" does not show any error message.

          Thank you.

              Hi Soubhi,

              I followed the steps in 08 Aero Network and System Administration · intel-aero/meta-intel-aero Wiki · GitHub  and I was able to have internet access on my Aero Compute Board. Could you be so kind to provide the outputs of the following commands:

              - get_aero_version.py
              - cat etc/wpa_supplicant.conf
              - ping www.google.com

              We will be waiting for your reply, have a nice day!

              Best Regards,
              -Jose P.

                Hi Jose,

                I appreciate your help.

                The output of get_aero_version.py :
                BIOS_VERSION = Aero-01.00.12 Prod.OS_VERSION = Poy Aero 1.3.1 (Krogoth)

                AIRMAP_VERSION = 1.8

                FPGA_VERSION = 0xc0.

                The output of wpa_supplicant.conf :

                ctrl_interface==/var/run/wpa_supplicant

                ctrl_interface_group=0

                update_config=1

                ping www.google.com:

                bad address "www.google.com".

                In the previous versions, I used just to edit wpa_supplicant.conf and set the configuration directly like :

                netwrok = { ssid = "net_name" }

                and It was working without any problem. Now, I tried the steps in Wiki and the previous method but both do not work.

                Is there any log file that records the errors for network connection?

                When I switch to client mode, no problem or message errors are shown and the AP is disabled (I cannot find the network from my personal PC).

                And when I followed the steps in the wiki, the final result for each commands was "OK". I have just noticed after I execute "set_net 1", I get the following :

                ----------------------------------

                wlan0: No enabled networks (2 disabled networks)

                wlan0: No enabled networks - do not scan.

                wlan0: state: INACTIVE -> INACTIVE

                OK

                Thank you,

                Soubhi

                  Hi Jose,

                  Now, I tried to set a password for the network and the OS successfully connected to the Wi-Fi network. When the network is open (without password), It does not able to connect.Problem solved!

                  Thank you Jose!
