I already flashed the BIOS in the Aero and I didn't get any errors. Are you sure that your USB drive is formatted in FAT32? Also are you sure you are using the right rpm file (Download UAV installation files for Intel® Aero Platform ), please see the image below:
By the way I saw that you are using the old guide (Quickstart Guide · intel-aero/meta-intel-aero Wiki · GitHub ), in the new guide they use almost the same commands (02 Initial Setup · intel-aero/meta-intel-aero Wiki · GitHub ), but I would encourage to keep referring to the new guide.

Thanks for following up. I transferred the capsule file to the intel-aero device over a network connection. I checked the md5sum after the transfer and it was correct. I have used this approach before and it worked.
