mh65, Thank you very much for joining the Intel® NUC communities.
Sometimes depending on the product being used or the type of driver to be installed, the Intel® driver update utility is not that accurate in finding and installing the proper drivers. In that case what we recommend to do will be to install the drivers manually from our web site, on the following link you will find the latest drivers available for your NUC:
In there you will also find the latest version of the chipset driver:
Any further questions, please let me know.
Dear Alberto and MH65;
also I have the same problem. Also for me Intel driver update seems to update but really it fails to update this driver.
But also follows your suggestion it is not better. I did downloaded manually the new driver package version 10.1.1.42 , i extrac and launch "setup" but also in this case the installation procedures seems to be good but no update is available after restart.
My last attemp was open "device" and try to manually find what devise uses this driver. For example one component that uses this driver is I/O SMS bus. If you force maunually driver update going in the folder where you have the "setup" file extracted you will be able to install the new 10.1.1.42. Infact after a restar you will have the new one. But I see that many others component use this driver and i try to change others but i cannot be sure to find all components, and I don't think is a godd solution, and Intel driver update utility also says that there is older version installed 10.1.1.38.
I read in your link that old driver 10.1.1.38 will causes a relevant issue for my NUC so I hope you will be able to give us soon a solution to override this problem:
I recently installed drivers after Windows clean install and found out that 10.1.1.42 chipset drivers (which I downloaded from Intel site of course) are signed as being 1970 year released... I think this may be the reason why upgrading Chipset Device Software to ver. 10.1.1.42 fails. I also have experienced the same problem before clean install of Win 10
I also noticed the odd date of 1970 when I tried to check in the device manager whether the driver had been updated.
Wonderful; if it is so for Intel it is very easy to change signature date of drivers.
We are waiting
mh65, rockit, I just wanted to let you know that Intel is currently working on fixing the problem with the date showing as 1970 on the driver, please refer to:
Antonino, In regard to the chipset driver installation, depending on the product you are using, we recommend to install the drivers provided by the manufacturer of the board or laptop, in this case, the best thing to do will be to check directly with them or visit their web site to verify which is the latest version available.
Any questions, please let me know.
I forgot to say you that my problem is not only the same of MH65 but also in the same hardware: your last NUC7i3BNK. So all drivers and all things that i did described are made with drivers and utilities of Intel taken in your sites.
I will waiting for fix of chipset driver.
Antonino, You are welcome. Thank you very much for letting us know that information.
Just to let you know, we were able to manually install each driver for this NUC individually with no problems using the drivers provided in our web site. So, if after trying the BIOS update to the latest version the problem still persists and you cannot install the drivers, then the issue could be related to a different component, could be the operating system or the hard drive that you are using. We recommend to install the chipset driver first, then the management engine and then the graphics driver, so, if you have the option to re-install Windows from scratch then you can always try that and install the drivers following that order. The problem could be related to the NUC itself as well, so, if the problem remains, then please submit your inquiry on a new thread, the reason for that is that every scenario is different, even if the same product is being used, so, for us to further assist you to try to fix the specific problem the NUC might have, please submit a new thread:
Let me apologize for any inconvenience.
In regard to the problem with the wrong date showing on the driver, Intel is still working to try to fix that issue, for any updates on that subject please check the following link:
