Thank you for contacting the Intel community.
Would you please provide us with your system model and operating system installed?
Were you able to see these drives before on the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology?
Are you able to see the HDDS on the disk management?
Would you please attach a picture of what you see when you open the IRST?
Do you have a raid configured in your system? If so, what raid volume you have, rain 0, raid 1, raid 5?
Please provide us with this information to better assist you.
The system is an HP F4K12UT#ABA, (an EliteDesk 800.)
It is a little over three years old.
It is running Windows 7 Pro,
When it was first set up, the raid showed up and was running properly.
When I go into the rapid storage tool, it simply shows my the DVD in its round cornered rectangle box on the right side where I would normally see the Array on the top and then the DVD below it.
There is no mention of the hard drives at all on that screen.
When I click Help and then System Report, it shows the array and the two drives with no issues associated with them.
Yet, on the Main Status screen we see the message from above.
I can't easily get you a screen shot at this time since I'm off site and the client was getting a bit peeved it took me so long simply to upgrade the bios and the rapid storage tool.
It seems that the newer rapid storage tools needed Net Framework 4.5 but wouldn't run with 4.6 that was installed and the newest one complained about incompatible hardware.
I also had problems with some of the versions of the rapid storage tool not having exe files and wasn't sure how to install without the exe files.
Have you ever seen anything like this?
At this point, I suggest you to uninstall the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology that you have installed and reinstall the proper version for you system from your computer manufacturer website, you should be able to download it here:
Also, reinstall the latest chipset driver that you can locate at that same website.
NOTE: This link is being offered for your convenience and should not be viewed as an endorsement by Intel of the content, products, or services offered there.
Newer version of the IRST may not be compatible with your system so for that reason install the one from your computer manufacturer website.
Did you make any changes in your system after this started to happen?
The next time the client lets me in there I will attempt to do those updates.
