No HDMI output on NUC6i7KYK after waking from suspend

    grange

I am aware that this question has been asked before, but the thread is locked ???  I'm saying the problem has not been solved.

I have a new  "Kogan LED Monitor 28" 4K Ultra HD 3.0 HDMIx2" monitor (cable supplied) and skull canyon running linux mint 18.1 with latest bios (45).

While the computer itself resumes fine from a suspend (i can play music etc) - the monitor never turns back on and I have to turn everything off and on to get things going again.

I tried everything in previous locked thread to no avail.

      Would appreciate a solution.

Dont know if this is significant, but even though my monitor is connected via the skull canyon's HDMI port, under linux it shows up as DP1 and not as HDMI1 as I might have expected:

              Hello grange,

I am really sorry to hear that you are having issues with this. I work for Intel Customer Support and my recommendation would be for you to visit: https://01.org/linuxgraphics  and follow their Intel Graphics Recepi.

We have very limited support for Linux and we dont provide drivers and this seems to be an issue with the driver hand-shake process thru the HDMI with the monitor.

              Regards,

              Ronny G

I have already used the Intel Graphics Update Tool for Linux and installed the latest drivers.

From the reading I have done it seems clear to me that there is a root problem here that exists equally for windows and linux setups.

When I resume the SC i can give it commands via keyboard shortcuts - I have tried various linux commands (xset, xrandr) which should restart the connected graphics without any affect.

                  Hi grange,

I would appreciate if you can provide me with more details about the same issue but when in Windows.

Please let me know if you are okay to share that with me and I will follow up on it.

                  Regards,

                  Ronny G

grange, hope you were able to check rguevara last post.

hi, sorry about late reply but things are busy here.

I installed the newly released bios (46) and found that resume does in fact work ok for one screen resolution (1920x1200). So thanks this is workable for me - however the higher resolution modes don't work (ie I can't successfully apply them under system settings for the display) - so others may remain disappointed.

I will point out that still:

"even though my monitor is connected via the skull canyon's HDMI port, under linux it shows up as DP1 and not as HDMI1".

                        Hi grange

The HDMI output from Intel® NUC Kit NUC6i7KYK comes from a LSPcon chip which makes possible that in some system reports the HDMI output is displayed as DP.

                        Regards,

                        Amy.
