Hi wingman99,
I have been trying to get information about AVX feature included on an Intel® processor.
This allows the CPU to operate at a user-defined frequency when overclocked, but then back off by a chosen number of multiplier ratios when an AVX workload is applied.
Check the site linked below for additional information: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/gaming/overclocking-intel-processors.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/gaming/overclocking-intel-processors.html

The AVX feature can be use at a user-defined frequency when overclocked and that is why the feature is available. It can be enabled or disabled.
Please bear in mind that Intel does not provide overclocking assistance, this is considered out of scope of support and I am sure you can get plenty of information about overclocking on Internet forums.

Hi wingman99,
I was wondering if you still need more information in regard to the AVX feature.

Xeon has AVX offset, when should it be used and Why did Intel make this option? You can't overclock a Xeon so why does Intel have that option for Xeon?

Hi wingman99,
I understand that the Intel® Xeon® processor is a locked unit. As you may know, you can find the Intel® Turbo boost feature. AVX are set to help on this technology. It will increase processor base frequency dynamically.
