Thanks for your interest in the Intel® Edison Platform.
Unfortunately, this question is out of the scope of our support. Nevertheless, I did some investigation, but I still couldn't find any information on someone using the Edison as an Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Still, I found these libraries that can simulate an ANN:
You should know that I can't guarantee if these libraries will work with the Edison. The only board that can officially support a Neural Network is the Intel® Curie, if you are interested in knowing more about the Curie and its Neural Network, please follow these links:
Finally, regarding using Matlab with the Edison, I would encourage you to do it by using a UART communication protocol, please use this document as a guide: Intel® Quark™ microcontroller D2000 – How to communicate with MATLAB over UART | Intel® Software
Hope this helps, have a nice day!
