Windows install Never works on i7?

Hello, just yesterday I bought an i7 860. I have 4gb of ddr3 ram, but as far as I can tell, overclocking is not the issue. I have tried to install windows 7 twice, and both times it gets to 100% then when it is getting ready to load in the for the first time, it just shuts the computer down before even starting up windows. It then restarts and does the same thing over and over. I then tried windows vista. Install works, It made it all the way to completing installation, even after a restart, then freeze's about 30 seconds after this begins... So nearly completing the installation, twice, and freezing in the same place. I've tried changing the bios, and I've tried several different boot discs. Ive Tried having my USB keyboard unplugged.  I am at my wits end, please would anyone have a suggestion?

Intel in-house experts will be taking questions on everything related to their new Intel core processors. I think the Intel Live Chat event of tomorrow (26th Feb) will be the best platform for you to get a credible answer for that question. http://www.intellivechat.com/facebook.html

Please post more information concerning your system components.  Include BIOS and Chipset versions, BIOS settings and other configuration items that you feel would help us troubleshoot your issue.  I am running two Core i7-860 Systems on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with no issues.

I will follow up with another post with my system setup.

Thank you Manjit and Keith for your quick response. My System is a custom build, Intel i7-860 2.8 ghz. Socket LGA 1156. Gigabyte p55a-ud4p motherboard. Intel p55 express chipset. 2x2gig crucial RAM PC3-8500 CL=7 unbuffered Non ECC DDR3-1600 1.5V-256meg x 64.Video: EVGA Geforce GTX 280. Im not quite sure how to find out my BIOS are you meaning, what the options read in my bios? I'm beginning to wonder if it's a memory timing issue where Im also not very sure what to do. Any help would be so great. been at it for two days and starting to get a little discouraged.  Thank you

Seems like your running your ram at the specified speed, the mother board should get the correct settings from the ram automatically.

You can run memtest to check if there is a ram problem:
