Please provide the following information so we can further assist you:
Which is the Windows version you are using?
Are you using 2.0 or 3.0 USB devices?
If you connect a USB device, does it work properly?
The problem seems to be related to the chipset and USB drivers, so in order for us to confirm if the proper driver was installed, please provide the SSU report:
Please install the SSU tool (System Support Utility):
You will be able to download it on the following link:
Once you do that, the tool will allow you to save the information as a file, so, once you save it, please also attach it to this thread, in order for us to see it.
Any further questions, please let me know.
My apologies... no, I didn't see the previous reply. I've been going back and forth between the PC that's having the problem and an older PC that has my software products installed. Please see below for my replies.
Which is the Windows version you are using? Windows 7, SP1
Are you using 2.0 or 3.0 USB devices? The PC is a Dell 8700 XPS, iCore 7, and it has both 2.0 and 3.0 USB ports. I have mostly 2.0 devices, but the error above was displayed when no devices were plugged into the USB ports
If you connect a USB device, does it work properly? Yes, I tried connecting a USB device to each USB port on the PC and the PC recognized it each time.
Please install the SSU tool (System Support Utility): Okay, I will install it when I get back onto the PC with the problem and I'll post the results.
Thank you very much for letting us know that information.
No problem at all, you do not need to apologize, we understand you are really busy and that it takes a while for you to be able to reply to us.
In regard to the SSU tool report, please take your time to send it, eventually I will do a follow up on this case, but as long as you let us know that you need more time to provide an answer, we will wait for your response as long as you need.
Any questions, please let me know.
