Looks like there is a confusion in between what RMM4 and RMM4 Lite (RMM4 Lite 2) is.
What is understood as RMM4 (Remote Management Module 4) is made of 2 separate devices, 1 dedicated server management NIC and 1 RMM4 Lite module (the one that enables the KVM features during the remote management session)
The RMM4 Lite is understood as the small module only with no NIC.
When on the TPS it says it doesn’t support RMM4 it refers to both the little module and the NIC. The reason why is not supported is because the S1200SP board comes with a embedded dedicated management NIC port so the discrete management NIC is not necessary.
The RMM4 Lite 2 is an updated version of the RMM4 Lite
On the following document URL you can find more detailed information about the RMM4 and RMM4 Lite. http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/intel_rmm4_ibwc_userguide_r2_72.pdf
Hope this helps
Hello Jose H.
Thank you for very useful URL.
I see, S1200SPS board I asked about comes without an embedded dedicated management NIC and without 7-pin RMM4 Lite connector.
Two lists of compatible products, mentioned in my first post, seem to me having inaccuracy concerning to S1200SPS and AXXRMM4LITE2 compatibility.
Now a simple question: is "KVM over network" supported by S1200SPS?
