          Hi Techieguy,

Thanks for your interest in the Intel Galileo Platform.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with your Galileo. Could you be so kind to explain us what sort of issue you are experiencing when you used the Galileo on Windows 8.

I will be waiting for your reply, have a nice day!

          Best Regards,
          -Jose P.

I don't know if I understand the question... I've used the Arduino IDE for Intel Galileo (small) projects. I've have some problems, but they have been dependent on too many specific details, most of them related to the specific (small) projects on which I've worked.

I suggest that if you have some specific problem then open a thread and report, ask, etc. about your specific problem, just as Jose P. suggested.

            HTH,

            Fernando.

                Hi Techieguy,

                Plase show:

                a) The Device Manager window before and after you plug in your Intel Galileo (which should be already turned on)

                b) Set the proper Intel Galileo card in the Arduino IDE "Tools" options

                c) The IDE compile/verify output

What is the IDE version you are using?

                Fernando.

I see, your Intel Galileo USB connection to the PC is not recognized. Follow the instructions at

IoT - Installing drivers and updating firmware for Arduino on a system with Windows* | Intel® Software

and take into account that "Gadget Serial V2.4 or Galileo port" in your case is "CDC serial".

If you have trouble please take a look at Re: CDC Serial  and/or let us know.

Good to know. Sometimes, faulty cables make trouble too.
