    Duplicate python files in Yocto

    bhanukishan

Why a duplicate file is being created everytime i open and save a *.py file?

for example : opening a new.py file and after modifying it. Another "new.py~" file is being created?

What should we do for this?

          Hello bhanukishan,

Thank you for interest in the Intel® Edison Breakout Board.

The files that you are referring to are backup/temporary files generated when editing/running code, most programs create them. You can delete them if you want, but they don’t cause any issues, so unless they are taking a lot of memory space (which is not usually the case), you can leave them.

          Regards,
