Hi,

First of all... My Hardware isn't much for gaming. I have an Asus zenbook ux305fa with 8gb of RAM and an Intel HD 5300 graphics Adapter.

I can Play Resident evil 7 very good in 800x600 without any Problems.

About 2 hours in thr game i arrive at a Scene in the basement (have to search for 3 Dog Heads) and in the basement the game Freezes and crashes. Gives me error Message "hresult = 887a0005 deviceremoved".

I Use Windows 10 pro 64bit. Theres only one graphics Driver for the 5300 from october of 2016. You Guys know something?

To bei more precisely....

I'm in the chapter "the way out" and already have two of those dog keys. After solving a shadow puzzle i have to go downstairs to the basement. There's one "molded" that i killed and at the end of the hallway there's a metal door. When i go to that door the game freezes and crashes.

When i enter the door on the left i get surrounded by two "molded". Trying to escape forwards to a wall the same error message occurs.

Any idea? Until this point the game runs smooth.

Hello mischa1981:

In order to try to fix the problem of the game getting freeze, we can try the drivers from the following link, not sure if those drivers are the ones you already tried:

Beta driver 4539:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26347/Intel-Beta-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=84188 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26347/Intel-Beta-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=84188

Or driver 4501:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26228/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=84188 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26228/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=84188

Also, you can try the drivers provided by ASUS, please look for VGA driver and also a BIOS update will be a good option to try:

https://www.asus.com/us/Notebooks/ASUS-ZenBook-UX305FA/HelpDesk_Download/ https://www.asus.com/us/Notebooks/ASUS-ZenBook-UX305FA/HelpDesk_Download/

Please let me know the results of trying those drivers.

Any further questions, please let me know.

Regards

Alberto

Thanks for your response but no, didn't work, the error remains the same 😕

I also have the latest BIOS installed.

The thing is, it ALWAYS happens exactly at TWO locations in the game. In the game itself never had this error. Only at those two places.

Capcom now released a second patch for AMD users, but this also didn't help.

The now most actual driver installed by Windows Update is this:

Intel Corporation - Display - 11/10/2016 12:00:00 AM - 20.19.15.4549

Hello mischa1981:

You are welcome.

Thank you very much for providing those details.

Yes, it is strange that the problem happens always at 2 specific locations.

At this point since we tried different graphics drivers, we will try to replicate the issue, in order for us to be able to do that, we just need to verify a few details, please provide as much information as you can on the following chart:

/thread/77761 https://communities.intel.com/thread/77761

Any questions, please let me know.

Ok alright, I hope this Info is ok:

Description:

Game: Resident Evil 7, Patch 1.02

I am about 2,5 hours in the game, chapter "The Way Out". You have to collect three dog heads in order to proceed. Two of them I already have. For the third one you have to solve a shadow puzzle and then a doorway opens. Proceeding there you will get to a basement (right before that is a tape to save your game).

When I enter the basement, there are several enemies, called "Molded". So I get to the end of the hallway and there's a door with Metal Bars. Seems something is supposed to take place there. In the moment, about 2 steps away from the door the game crashes with the error message:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RESIDENT EVIL 7\re7.exe

"d:\\reengine\\reengine\\builder\\modules\\render\\os\\renderdevicedx11.cpp" 3796 present

Die GPU-Geräteinstanz wurde angehalten. Verwenden Sie GetDeviceRemovedReason, um die erforderliche Akton zu bestimmen.

Hardware: Asus Zenbook UX305FA, 8GB System Memory, Intel HD 5300 Graphics Unit

No Hybrid, Single 13" Display

Graphics Driver Version: 20.19.15.4549 (came via Windows Update)

Configuration: LEP, Single Display

How to Repro: See description, all details provided.

I have no idea how to attach fles in this editor, so I cannot provide you with DXDIAG or info of your Intel Tool.

My software is: Windows 10 pro 64bit, latest official build (I don't use the Insider Program), Resident Evil 7, patch 1.02. Hardware is an unchanged ASUS Zenbook UX305FA, 8GB of memory.

Hope this Information helps!

Hello:

Thank you very much to damian240 for your comments above.

To mischa1981:

Thank you very much for letting us know that information.

Please install the SSU tool (System Support Utility):

You will be able to download it on the following link:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility

Once you do that, the tool will allow you to save the information as a file, so, once you save it, please also attach it to this thread, in order for us to see it.

Besides that right click anywhere on the desktop and look for the option: Intel® HD Graphics control panel, once you open that, choose "options and support", then select "information center", and then choose where it says "file" at the bottom, you will get a text file, please attach it to this thread, so we can verify it.

In order to attach those files to the thread, you just need to select "reply", then look for the option that says "Use Advanced Editor" on the upper right corner, and then look for "attached" on the lower right corner and you will be able to attach the file.

Thos are the only 2 files we need in order to try to replicate the issue, let me apologize for any inconvenience.

Any questions, please let me know.

Regards

Alberto

Hi Alberto, thank you, I'm just downloading the driver although I doubt that it'll work because my HD 5300 (5th generation) doesn't seem to be supported by the driver.

/edit:

OK as I thought this driver doesn't support my HD 5300 graphics adapter. The setup dialogue just says that I don't meet the minimum requirements for this driver. So I guess my hardware just isn't supported.

Do you still support the HD 5300?

Hello Alberto and mischa1981,

I am struggling with the exact same error as mischa1981, but with a different GPU (Iris Graphics 6100).

Tried the new driver you suggested, but it also doesn't support my GPU.

Hello mischa1981:

Yes, we do support Intel® HD graphics 5300, on the following link you will find all the drivers that we have available for that graphics controller, you tried some of them, but in there you will see different versions:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/84188/Intel-HD-Graphics-5300 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/84188/Intel-HD-Graphics-5300

To AWO:

For Intel® Iris Graphics 6100, you can try the drivers on the link below, you can also try an older driver to try to resolve the issuer:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=Iris+Graphics+6100 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=Iris+Graphics+6100

We will continue our research in order to try to find a possible fix for this problem.

As soon as I get any updates, I will post all the details on this thread.

Any questions, please let me know.

Regards

Alberto

Hello Alberto, that is totally OK. Your help is very appreciated. And yes, I've already tried these drivers. Unfortunately none work for this game.

Hello mischa1981 and AWO:

Thank you very much for letting us know the results of using that driver.

I just wanted to let you know that I received some updates from our investigation.

Please try the following steps and let us know the results:

1. Navigate to the Game installation folder. By default it should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\RESIDENT EVIL 7 Biohazard

2. Open the file "re7_config.ini" with a text editor. e.g. notepad.exe

3. Search for the HDRmode and change it from HDRMode = 1 to HDRMode = 0

4. Save the changes and close the file

If issue persists, uninstall the game and delete the installation folder [if using Steam Cloud your saved games should be preserved, otherwise you should backup the saved files first]

Let me apologize for any inconvenience.

Any questions, please let me know.

Regards

Alberto

Hello mischa1981,

I would like to replicate this issue, but I was wondering if you could share with me your Game Save file.

The saved game file is usually located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\ [your_ID# ] \418370\remote\win64_save

To be honest, I haven't tried sharing the RE 7 game files from a different user before, so I'm not even sure if it's going to work. But if it does, it would spare me from 1.5 to 2 hours of gameplay (not complaining really, but finished the game twice already so I was ready to move on to something else )

Kindest Regards,

Hi Ronald,

No Problem, as soon as I can Access my Laptop and restored the game (I now own a Samsung 850 EVO m.2 instead of the crappy sandisk x300) I will send you the save game files.

Thank you very very much for your Support!!!
