We understand you're looking to upgrade your laptop by switching from a hard drive (HDD) to a solid state drive and would like some advice.
While we always recommend consulting with your computer manufacturer before purchasing any new hardware, especially when it comes to laptop systems, it should be perfectly OK to install a SATA SSD on your computer.
Since we were not able to confirm which SATA revision is supported by your computer, we can't guarantee you'll be able to receive maximum performance from your new SSD (regardless, it will still be much faster than an HDD). No need to worry, newer SATA revisions are backward compatible.
From our current models, we can recommend the following consumer family 2.5" SATA SSD Models:
- Intel® SSD 540s Series.
- Intel® SSD 730 Series.
- Intel® SSD 535 Series.
- Intel® SSD 530 Series.
We hope this information helps.
