I have two KY units. I have never seen the spontaneous reset (a.k.a. sporadic shutdown) or hang/freeze issues occur with these units; they've been stable as a rock.
- One has Crucial 2x16GB DDR4-2133 (CT2K16G4SFD8213).
- One has Crucial 2x8GB DDR4-2133 (CT2K8G4SFD8213).
- I am using Windows 7 on both of these units.
- I have both system and monitor sleep disabled on these units (which stops the issues with hanging displays).
Thank you very much to N. Scott Pearson for the information posted previously.
You can use either of the part numbers for memory RAM posted above, or any other type of memory as long as it is DDR4-2133+ 1.2V, 1.35V SO-DIMM:
Also, on the following link you will be able to see more options and part numbers for the memory RAM that was tested with the NUC:
Any further questions, please let me know.
I had 1-2 lockups like people explain in this forum in the first week or two of getting my 6i7KYK, but after updating all drivers/BIOS it has NEVER happened again... and I'm running:
Ballistix Sport LT 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR4 2400 MT/s (PC4-19200) SODIMM 260-Pin Memory - BLS2K8G4S240FSD
I know the speed is over the "spec" for the NUC, but mine runs like a champ! I run Windows 10 Pro + the full Office Suite, and Lightroom 6.
The Crucial 2x16GB DDR4-2133 (CT2K16G4SFD8213) did not resolve the freeze issue as I am sending in the unit back this week and hopefully the replacement unit will be working as design.
Will keep you posted.
