Extreme Tuning Utility - shows incorrect CPU frequency

After running a benchmark, the XTU shows the maximum core frequency as 3.8GHz (the default clock speed of my i5 7600K) when it should read 4.4GHz, as that is what the CPU is overclocked to...does anyone know why this is and how to remedy it?

Hello IcedDog,

Could you please check in your BIOS configuration what is the base frequency? I just want to check if the XTU is pulling the information correctly from your BIOS configuration. One more thing that I would like to check is the report from the Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool, so please run the utility and attach the report.

Hi, the BIOS shows the correct base clock of 100MHz. I ran the IPDT and attached the full report. I see the report did note the actual CPU frequency of 4.8GHz, which is what I have it currently overclocked at...

Thank you for that information.

For testing purposes, could you please set the frequency to the stock frequency and run the benchmark one more time?

Amy.

CPU-Z always shows 4.8GHz under load, but I just ran the XTU benchmark again and it now shows the correct frequency of 4.8GHz in every relevant field...not sure what changed, but hey, it seems to work properly now

It might have been a misreading from the BIOS. I glad to hear that it is working.

If there is something else I can help you with, please let me know.

Amy.
